I'm "investigating" the origin of this scene:


Imho a real classic one and my personal incarnation of a "maniac Eddie".

I've taken these screenshots from the Oceans video (TB 2000, 2:12 'til 2:14), but my initial contact was within a trailer for the Vs. release on MTV in the early 90's, composed of several scenes from miscellaneous earlier videos and live performances.

In the trailer this scene is coloured (not b/w as seen in the Oceans video) and it has been underlayed with a switch-over from "Go" to "Rearviewmirror". This single scene just totally blew my mind at that time (and it still does) and I hope I'm not the only one who remembered it and to whom it became a milestone of pure .

Somebody told me his speculation, that this scene might have been taken ( damn grammar I hope u understand this nevertheless) from the concert at which "Even flow" has been filmed (92-01-17, Seattle Moore Theatre) due to the fact that both videos were made by Josh Taft.

Another speculation is, that this video is from somewhere in 1993.

To cut a long story short: Does anyone remember / recognize this scene and has some further specul- or even information based on facts 'bout its origin? Or a hint for me how to work it out (besides of calling Eddie... he's busy at the moment, you know...)?

If the screenshots were from teh Oceans video, then the film was not shot in 1993. That video was released in the fall of 1992. The surfing and other tropical shots were from around September 1992, when the band went to Hawai'i to unwind after Lollapalooza and a year and a half of straight touring.
