i'm the first? ok! Hi everyone! Long time no type!
Ummmm, that show was amazing....
Porch was played. Best thing ever. All songs had extremely high energy from Eddie and the crowd, although I sat next to a 50-something year old man who was miserable for most of the show, he only knew Hard Sun (last song played), but he got up and danced for it, which was nice. There was a strange scientist theme going on, all the stage hands were wearing labcoats, and Eddie came out in one and wore it for a lot of the show. Don't worry he had his flannel on underneath. Also, he played on a round persian rug and was surrounded by old luggage and had a case of Corona at his feet. He didn't touch them but he was drinking a bright red drink from what looked like a science beaker (i have horrible eyesight) and then opened up a bottle of wine during the encore. Ummm songs played, that i remember, and not in the right order at all...
Walking the Cow Around The Bend Dead Man Walking ARC!! (thought it was Wolf at first but it's been confirmed, it was Arc! Ed said he wanted to try out an "experiment"... he brought out another mic and it sounded like he was recording himself singing and then playing it so it sounded like echos, it sounded amazing.) PORCH!! Lukin!! (so funny! He started off by saying that this is one you can all sing along to, started of slow then did the best (no screw ups) version of this song I've ever heard, sadly i was the only one singing along. No More Drifting (screwed up 2nd verse, crowd helped him out) I Am Mine (great solo) Rise Society - With Liam Finn Setting Forth Far Behind Hide Your Love Away Forever Young I Used to Work in Chicago (crowd loved it) Hard Sun- With Liam Finn and co.
No Ceiling(preceded by a story about how Sean (Penn)gave him direction for this song and that he shouldn't be afraid to be too literal, all he needed to know was that "that the guy is finally leaving the bus, it doesn't matter how, the important thing is that he's leaving the bus and he's not coming back, he's not going back home, he's not going back to his parents, he's not going back to california to screw the sixteen year old....and in brackets it said 'all though I don't know why'....he just leaves the bus......and so i wrote this song thinking about that" [/b]
On the uke: Guaranteed Rise Goodbye Soon Forget others I'm sure
Funny moment: Crowd was being quite rowdy and talkative with Eddie, most were ignored, but at one point when it was very quiet some guy screamed out "I love you, heterosexually!", it seemed like Eddie was trying to ignore it but then he just laughed and asked "what was that last word?" then the crowd went completely silent and after like 5 seconds the guy replied "heterosexually." The timing was so perfect, maybe you had to be there but i nearly peed my pants.
All in all, great show. It was no pearl jam, but it was definitely the next best thing!
Very strange not to hear Alive.

^^ not much to add at this hour. crowd was energetic, but a bit obnoxious with the song requests. accoustic porch was amazing. all the into the wild stuff was amazing (but makes me wish the songs were longer). drifting was great. arc deserves its own line. it almost made me cry, and i'm not prone to crying. eddie's voice was incredible and the song was very, very moving. liam finn was also amazing. here are pics of the poster - it has more of a gradiant to a blue/greenish tint at the top than these pics indicate. it's also the same kind of chalkly ink that the 7.23.06 ames bros. gorge poster was printed with (and, thus, prone to scratching). the zippo lighters are cool and the free programs are really nice.

Why's that?
I think he means because it's there every show.

Dude alive is pretty played out. We've all been listening to that song since 1991, and frankly, they have written songs that outweigh that song by ten fold. Driftin' being one of em, which he played. Yeh, I buy into the fact that its very emotional etc etc from Eddie's point of view, but I personally would be pretty tired of singin it of I were him. Just my HPOV. As for this setlist, its awesome to know that he's playin Porch (which fully makes up again ten fold for alive), I am mine, and ARC. driftin's one of those songs that pretty much only hard core fans know because even though it was on Lost Dogs, it got lost in the shuffle of that album, again in my HO.

i'm so hoping for a glorious return of believe you me.
and yes, i've heard alive a lot too, and in it's original form, it won't arouse me, but imagine Ed redoing it in a different way. that has potential to be extremely good
