What was it? DC, Hartford, and Bonnaroo all seemed great, but they were sort of isolated within the tour. I imagine many fans went to one of the combos below. Fuck you if you could afford more, but ultimately, your opinion will probably be most revealing.
West Palm / Tampa Camden 1 and 2 Columbia / Va. Beach MSG 1 and 2 Mansfield 1 and 2

From setlist alone, I'd say Columbia > Virginia Beach is the strongest of those mentioned above.
There isn't a whole lot of surf down there in West Palm to be had, I'll tell ya.
An hour north in Sebastian is considered the capital of the East Coast surf world. Some of the world's best surfers have come from Central Florida. Like Kelly Slater says, "If you can surf Florida, you can surf anywhere."

Ha. Nothing would make my day more than to see a group of surfers out riding the white caps of Lake Erie!
I watched a surf vid of these guys who actually do surf Lake Michigan. Sometimes they surf the wake of the huge merchant ships. Them guys are nuts. Friggin freezing water.

MSG I, MSGII - the only weak link in MSG II was that very mediocre 2nd encore. It's unfortunate No More starts off every damn 2nd encore. would have been nice to have Ed change it up occasionally. How many times does he have to go through the same spiel? At least thats the one song he was totally into EVERY single show I saw this tour.
My two-show combo was Camden I, then after seeing three baseball games in three east coast cities, DC. These were shows 15 and 16 for me, and I saw 10 songs between the two shows that I haven't seen live before. Always great to see them more than once on a tour, and this my first time to the east coast for shows. Very impressive...

Who says Sebastian is the capital of the East Coast surf world besides maybe KS?!?
The Outer Banks gets world renowned surf.
Back on topic, Columbia and Va Bch was a great 1-2. Hell, I think Va Bch gets better surf than Florida.

Well, for one Transworld Surf magazine. I'm looking at it right now, but didn't find it on the net. Its the September 2007 issue, paye 94 "Central Florida is the unofficial surfing capital of the US East Coast, with a burgeoning industry and culture on par with anywhere in the world."
Outer Banks is sick. When it goes off, it really goes off. I'd love to surf there one day. Granted I'd probably freeze to death. But Fla gets surf. Not always as much as I'd like, but we get some. Often its anything but world class, but maybe thats why guys who surf Fla can dominate other places.

bah, Ok.
OB isn't as cold as you think. 6 months a year you don't need a wet suit. Granted, it's not FL but it's not Cali either. Can you ever get in the water north of San Diego without a wet suit?
