I am informed by a friend who attended tonight's DC show that there was official video being shot. I have no further info but I know a lot of people get excited about that sort of thing.

Any confirmation from others in attendance?

I was there Saturday night and there were cameras. Eddie mentioned it by saying something like "there's some people recording for posterity" or the such. So we'll see - it would be cool.

22. No More
23. Arc

Encore 2:
24. All Along The Watchtower (with Brendan Canty of Fugazi on drums)
25. Hard Sun (with Liam Finn on drums & Eliza)

NOTES:
A shorter set tonight. The crowd seemed more reserved. Still the occassional jerks screaming out. Eddie told a story of paddle-boarding down the Potomac River, seeing boats docked with ridiculous names that probably belonged to Senators and approaching a naval station freely and openly. He mentioned how ridiculous it was when airport security is so absurd. He flubbed the beginning of Far Behind, stopping it when he had started it out correctly. Later, he botched Society with Liam, starting it again from the solo. His friend filming was laughing at him. Eddie joked with him that he should be shouting out words of encouragement and not laughing. The Dylan covers and Cat Stevens songs were unexpected and really cool.

Brendan Canty from Fugazi was sitting on the side of the stage filming all night. Eddie introduced him during the second encore and surprised him by asking him to drum on All Along The Watchtower. He rocked it with the crowd clapping along to the beat. Then Liam and his vocalist closed out the show with Hard Sun again like the night before.

Around 2 AM, Brendan drove out of the loading dock with Ian Mackaye in the passenger seat. Shortly after, Eddie came out and addressed the 30 people waiting around. He talked for over 10 minutes about politics, some inside media information about ratings, and graciously shook everyone's hand. Liam Finn was by the van snapping pictures. Without being too specific, Eddie mentioned "the film" so its a small indication that there might possibly be a DVD. We'll see.

Two great shows. Two great nights. Hope the next show is even better.

i was there too...a great show despite the occasional "thieves of silence" (i.e., screamers)...

i wasn't able to get my digital camera into the venue. they had a strict no camera policy at the warner, and were having people check their camera's at the door...so i just walked mine back to the car. but i did manage to get one shot off with my cell phone camera when the house lights came up for the last number (hard sun)....

i had a perfect view of the stage 16 rows back in the center orchestra section. it's was a very cool to see ed in such a small venue. he was very talkative and interacted with the audience, telling stories about the songs, etc. that's not something you get often in big arenas gigs, so you definitely want to take it all in...i guess at one point some idiot got tired of the stories and yelled out for ed to move it along, to which he quipped "you can go out into the lobby and check your stock report on your blackbury thingy" the whole house busted out laughing. i think i even heard the clown's girlfriend yell shut up to the numbskull...

other than that blemish it was a brilliant performance. even the opening act liam finn was excellent.

This is about a minute of Eddie chatting with fans at 2 AM outside the Warner Theatre in DC. He says they have to get smart about things and someone asks if he'd sing at the inauguration if Barack is elected. He responds by saying "I don't know," and that musicians are willing to help out or not get involved, whatever Barack wants.

I'm kind of regretting not hanging out longer and waiting to meet Ed. We had been waiting 45 minutes and decided that we may wait all night for nothing so we went and met friends.

The show was really cool. I wasn't sure what to expect, it exceeded my expectations. It was really cool to see him in such a small venue. I was really impressed. The crowd was pretty great for the most part and I had a really cute girl next to me which was nice.

Hey I was dead center row F, with the shoulder length hair and Strokes tshirt.

ABOUT THE CAMERAS:
It was at least a 3 camera shot. I don't know anything about cameras, but these were portable ones but the lenses were very large and had tripod, even the ones low on the stage. One was a bigger over shoulder one. Lots of filming of the crowd from 10 minutes before the show. Two cameras were on the stage and one in the balcony on house-right side. Also at the beginning of the show (and maybe during) there was the bigger camera filming in the aisle in the front row. During parts of the show there were two cameras on either side of Ed. When Ed fucked up Society, he was like "I'll go back and start that from the solo again" which would make it easy to patch up the song to make it seem like one song. I would be 1,000% surprised if this were not made official. This was not a casual filming.

As the curtain dropped behind ed before the first encore, ed was clapping with the crowd right at the edge of the stage, shaking a ton of hands up front, and as he's slowly going behind the curtain, his head stays out of the curtain for a few extra moments, and it looked to me like his eyes were welling up just a tiny bit, so I'd say he was thrilled.

One of the camera men on the stage was the drummer for Fugazi, so when he he called the drummer up, I think he was kinda surprised. I would believe that Ed said "hey can you help film this concert" and then decided at the end to bring him up.

Some of the boat names that Ed saw while paddling the Potomac were "Miss Behavin'" which he said must be a senators boat, and "Knot For Sail". He said they ended up paddling right onto a military dock by accident and climed up and no one noticed. Joked about airport security searching babies, but "two knuckleheads" paddled right into a military area, or something like that.

I was behind the dude to your right that had earplugs in his ears. You were right in front of the dude who got tossed about 3/4 of the way through. I think they spotted him recordin because the guard came over like he was on a mission and grabbed him then grabbed something off the floor. (could have been weed too but I didn't smell any so I assumed it was a recorder). Were you there by yourself?

Yup that was me! My friend to my left was the one singing a little loudly. When Ed said that the "government takes 46% in taxes, that leaves me 64%", my friend was the one who shouted "54%", which Ed joked after making the mistake.

The guys in front of me were a bit annoying - but less so than at PJ shows. But they kept taking photos with their ipod... and the last few songs they kept talking to eachother... and then, when everyone was standing for the "seventh inning stretch", one of them lit up a join, and hid it pretty well.... and sure enough, security hauled his friend away... and the one smoking up stayed until the end of the song (I suppose letting his friend take the blame). Security was looking for the joint. I don't know if they found it, but they were touching the floor looking for it.

:)

hahaha, thats pretty funny. You have good hair. Yeah I was actually enjoying how into the show you were (without being obnoxious). I probably seem like I am not into the shows I'm at but I like to just relax and soak everything in. I honestly didn't even notice your friend. My buddy was right behind you and was really annoyed at the people to his left.

I recall what seemed like a little commotion down front in the seats on the right. Security was walking up and down the aisles throughout the entire concert. They seemed more adamant and strict about the rules the second night.
