WIth every new tour, songs get replaced. Personally, I think all Avocado songs will become rarities except WWS, Life Wasted, and Severed Hand. I only like one of them (SH), so that kind of sucks, but..... Well, maybe Comatose too.

And I think we'll never hear Army Reserve again in concert which sucks, cuz that was my favorite.

I think this is how we'll be seeing the songs from now on:

Frequent: WWS, Life Wasted, Severed Hand
Occasionally: Comatose, Marker, Come Back, Unemployable, Gone
Rarely: Parachutes, Inside Job
Very rarely (once or twice a tour): Army Reserve, Big Wave

I can definitely see this scenario...We'll have to revisit this thread once this tour is over. I hope you're wrong about MITS though!

I'd prolly put Come Back in the rarely category, but yeah, that looks about right.

I'll list what I think should happen (but wont):

Frequent: Life Wasted, Marker, Army Reserve
Occasionally: Severed Hand, Parachutes, Inside Job, Unemployable, Gone
Rarely: WWS, Come Back (drunk meatheads ruin it)
Never: Comatose, Big Wave

Last two years of shows total 28 shows. WWS got 11 plays in 07 (15 shows), but just one play in 08 (13 shows). LW got seven in 07 and two in 08. So, I'm not sure they'll be "regulars". The other songs were played with similar frequency both years. Severed Hand and Comatose got the most plays in 07/08 combined:

Song- 07/08
Life Wasted- 7/2
Worldwide Suicide- 11/1
Comatose- 7/7
Severed Hand- 11/10
Marker In The Sand- 2/2
Parachutes- 2/0
Unemployable- 2/3
Big Wave- 1/1
Gone- 1/4
Wasted Reprise- 2/1
Army Reserve- 0/1
Come Back- 1/2
Inside Job- 4/3

Frequently (11+ plays in a 30-show tour)- Severed Hand
Often (6-10 plays/30)- Life Wasted, Worldwide Suicide, Comatose, Unemployable, Gone, Inside Job
Occasionally (3-5 plays/30)- Marker In The Sand, Wasted Reprise (Boom'll need his moment), Come Back
Rarely (1-2 plays/30, if at all)- Parachutes, Big Wave, Army Reserve

considering Ed's voice and the band's new stuff that's supposedly new-wavey, here's my Avocado Theory

Life Wasted - not often, too hard on the vocal cords. :(
WWS - not often either, maybe a bit because Bush is out of the office and probably because it's hard to nail it for Ed (?)
Comatose - often. in this song, Ed uses his faux-screaming technique apparently so it seems easier to nail without busting his throat and the band seems to enjoy playing it.
Severed Hand - very often. it's Avocado's live hit.
Marker - rarely. it seems that it's not a band favorite which sucks because as much as i almost hate the chorus (musically), it's much better live. and Ed nails it.
Parachutes - sometimes, maybe never. Bridge School and occasions like that would be perfect, otherwise, as good as the song is, this is not a great tune for a rock concert.
Unemployable - more often than in 08 imo. i feel like this could fit well with the new songs.
Big Wave - probably not very often if at all. when on tour in NZ or Australia, or in Hawaii...
Gone - ...from the setlists.
Wasted Reprise - if they still have Boom with them it would make sense and it fits perfectly as an intro to LF. if there's no more Boom this one is gone too :(
Army Reserve - i love the song. that being said, it would surprise me if they'd put it on heavy rotation unless they feel that it's akin to their new songs (which is possible). also, Ed may have a bitter taste in his mouth when he sings that guy's lyrics, idk.
Come Back - occasional. this one's for the ladies!
Inside Job - more occasional than Come Back.

I disagree, think it'll be a regular.

what? he's fine nailing it. not sure why they didn't (except 1) play it last year, maybe because they played it to death in 06 (as in every show). but it'll be there.

funny you should say that because the first time they played it at the Astoria, Ed specifically said he couldn't sing much after it.

yeah.. though I think Marker is best kept infrequent.

thank god for that, I'd be happy if they never play it again.

thematically it fits with the times.

which is a shame.. it's a great tune live.

don't know, think it'll appear from time to time.

I have a big soft spot for Wasted reprise so I hope they keep it.

?? not sure what you mean 'that guy's lyrics'.

the ladies? he dedicated it to Johnny Ramones every time in 06.. and I grew to hate it...only redeeming thing is that it was almost always followed by I Believe in Miracles.

I think this one will be rather frequent actually. It's Mike's baby and they use the intro well too.

unfortunately I think Big Wave is close to Ed's heart. I hope they see how good Unemp;oyable it is and keep it in the rotation as much as you're saying.

I would pay a $10 premium on my ticket for Come Back to get the axe.

Where did you see it?

The song came off very well on the 06 tour when I saw it.

Unfortunately, I've seen it 3 times (in Chicago, Detroit, and Verona). It's just a big yawner.
