It is slow right so...I just wanted to see what people thought about this.
I have a couple of PJ covers posted on You-Tube. Yesterday I received a comment from TimBierman10C explaining that if I post PJ work I need to pay royalties.
Here is the comment... TimBierman10C has made a comment on Undone - Pearl Jam Cover:
Look , you are welcome to perform our songs but when you post them on sites like youtube that advertise you need to pay the royalties that are required tim bierman Ten Club
Here are my questions... 1. Is this really the President of the Ten Club? 2. Should I be pissed that my favorite band has it's management (of the fanclub) bothering it's biggest fans over playing and posting covers of its songs...like Prince's management!!!? (there are NO covers of Prince allowed on You-Tube) 3. Does PJ actually pay the folks they cover (during a concert) royalty fees? 4. How much??? (I can't imagine a band saying "Let's play Pearl Jam's Black" and having the band's management say, "No, the royalties to play that song are outrageous." 5. My Undone cover has 300 views, what would the royalties be on that? (Would royalties be based on # of views or a flat rate?)
I don't know whether or not to be pissed about this or excited that "The PJ Camp" has watched me play a Pearl Jam song.
I have not included a link because I am not doing this to get people to view my cover, if I really wanted a ton of people watching me, I would have chosen a more popular song that people would be searching for. If you want to see it just look up Pearl Jam Undone, its the only one.
Lastly, it really bothers me that this guy referred to the cover as "OUR" song. The last time I checked PEARL JAM was not Eddie, Jeff, Stone, Mike, Matt, Boom, and Timmy.
Lastly, Lastly, if this guy is not really from 10C he wins cause this took a lot of my time.

Email 10C and find out if it was legit, I guess.
You won't know otherwise.
You really should do this. I'd love to know if it was legit.

Actually it's 100% legit. My name is Charles Truax and I also represent the 10Club. I am going to "private message" you the address that you need to send a check or money order to...please no cash. The reason I and sending this message to the public first is because it is apparently needed to be public knowledge

It is a flat rate of $5.37. You have two weeks to comply or else Youtube will be notified to take your video down. Thank you and good day.
Sincerely, 10C

I dont know if hes real or not... but USA today over the weekend had an interview with his Purple-ness Prince and he actually mentioned Youtube and its copyright breaking ways... and i know for a fact Prince pays someone to search that site daily to make sure there is NO Prince material available...
even though the HoF performance of While My Guitar Gentley Weeps is almost always on there

I am not sure if the message is real or not but the wording does not bother me. The real Tim is a representative for Pearl Jam and can therefore call it our song in my book.
