Wasn't there a thread that listed all the soundboard shows pre-2000? I can't find it.

Since starting on the book, I'm really itching to hear the stuff from the first couple of years.

Wasn't 11/7/95 San Diego also a Monkeywrench Broadcast?

It's a stretch to say all those 1998 ALD shows qualify as "soundboards". The only one that sounds like a soundboard recording is Mansfield. The rest all sound like good-very good audience recordings (with St. Louis being GREAT), of which many other shows qualify as well. I'm pretty skeptical that 9/11/98 is anything but an audience recording, but perhaps I'm wrong. If that is how a direct ALD feed sounds, those poor folks would be better off taking the earphones out at the show.

Edit: I should qualify this to say that if someone does have a 9/11/98 that sounds soundboard (like Mansfield), please do let us know :)

Do any of these have decent STEREO sound? I can't remember if I've ever grabbed them or not...

10/06/91 Hollwywood
02/07/92 Stockholm
02/22/92 Newcastle
03/28/92 Chicago
06/18/92 Zurich

I'm pretty certain Hollywood does, though I'm not sure about the rest.

I think there is for some songs of Zurich and others not - the existing master doing the rounds is a complete mess. It's a mix between a bunch of different sources and the stereo channels even switch from song to song, it's really bad.

That's right - I remember now - the Zurich boot is a rash of shit.

I can only find an AUD for 2/7/92 Stockholm.

3/28/92 Chicago is listed elsewhere as B+ quality with C quality fills, so I guess that one's out.

That's leaves Newcastle (grabbing now) and Hollywood (can't find the pre-FM - anyone got it?).

Yep, I've got a rip of the Westwood One promo CD for Hollywood. I won't get a chance to upload it til later today, but I'll get a link to you in a few hours or so.

I also have an FM capture of Chicago that's not bad (though the channels are reversed, I think) - I'll get you that as well.

Also, the Chicago show (sorry, I edited the post above before I realised you'd replied).

It's not the whole show, either. I guess they didn't broadcast the whole thing.

I love that Hollywood gig. There's a part where the equipment cuts out on "Wash" and Ed sings the whole third verse a capella--beautiful.
