Yeah I think there was a crossed wire there..I'd say Ed was takin the piss a bit but the crowd got the fear and stayed schtum, 'cos by most reports online and from friends, the crowd literally zipped their traps and sat on their hands, sorta fearfully, for the rest of the night
i did say he was a commanding performer

It's weird 'cos i noticed at his solo shows he doesn't make eye contact with the front rows really at all, he's just starin off middle distance, whereas at a Pj shows he's in yer face the whole time..odd that he even spotted the guy..musta been the glare from the light..
rather some guy playin with his phone than some asshole shouting stuff at the stage....any day..

Exactly.
Of all the things someone could do to piss people off at a show, texting seems to be one of the least objectionable.
At the Boston show I thought the ushers giving people crap for using their phones was A LOT more distracting than the people actually using their phones.

i don't think he was actually serious about the texting.... although it did come across as a bit of a harsh joke... but funny nonetheless (at least to everyone but that guy probably)...
and the highlight of the show was definitely Hey Fahkah... and he played it twice, back to back...

he started off by saying that he had played all of the songs off of the record except one, and he was saving it for san diego b/c it was the song that his daughters connected with the most, and since they were at the show that night he would play it for them (this was before anyone knew which song he was talking about)... he then proceeded to strum a "bad" chord and then tap his ukulele like a bongo drum and just said "fahkah!"... and then he did it one more time b/c he said he promised them he would play it for them twice...
this also led to him mentioning that he might release a controversial children's album of "cuss" words in the future... and then performing it on Yo Gabba Gabba (or something like that)....

Ok, so I'm just going to start openly begging for a copy of Ed doing LCB solo. Love that song, he didn't play it at either of the solo gigs I attended - I know these shows are still pretty recent, but someone out there must have a copy... a pm? thanks to your recorders out there!
