They are out of order.

Thanks. I thought I remembered a boot with a track order fuckup. Now I know which one.

Essentially, all we did was run an EQ setting to increase the low end. Then increased the volume to normalize (to @98% I think) to avoid clipping. We then batch processed each show under the same setting. No limiting or compression. They do sound better, but not as good as the summer 2000 CDs.

I never really shared them as there did not seem to be much interest when I asked people if they wanted copies.

If I was to do them, I would try to get them as close to the US shows as possible. This would involve quite a bit of hard limiting, with about 1db of headroom. Compression isn't needed, just limiting. I'm not sure if I would change the EQ, as they do sound quite good when you crank them up. Jeff sounds just as present as he does on the US shows...I think the lack of overall volume robs a lot of the low end from those mixes. I would probably have to do some experimenting with random songs from across the tour, to try and find some kind of balance.

I'd be interested in hearing them, gatherspeed. My ears can't hear Jeff at all on the Euro 2000 shows, no how matter how high I crank the volume.

Jesus, Seattle 98 is great. Three songs in and its some of the best I've heard from this band in very long time.

Thank you for these.

I've always thought 7/22/98 was a bit over-rated. I just don't hear all that much intensity there...it's a really nice setlist (although the encores are a bit underwhelming), with some really cool performances, but Melbourne 1998 is better by leaps and bounds.

John,

I just wonder why the gig at Volkshaus Zurich Switzerland June 18th 1992 was not included in your "Soundboard Remasters Series (pre-2000 bootlegs)" project. Do you think the sources we all own for years about this gig were not good candidates to work with?

I'd like to read your expertise opinions and thoughts about this particulary gig (I must confess I'm very interested about this gig cuz it was THE FIRST PJ GIG I attended. A true immortal night. A very very small venue packed with less or more 500 peeps. The band was hot as hell and in very good mood. The "Mamasan trilogy" and a blitzering version of "Porch" that I'll never forget).

This is the best 3 sources mix I own regarding this particular gig. To my knowledge I don't think there're better sources out there. But I could be wrong cuz I've not been a very active member into the PJ trading scene since a few years now :)

A very special thanks John for the whole PJ SBD remasters series that recall me the fantastic remasters works you've done with Nirvana (I think I have all the series - first versions and upgraded versions) and a few others bands (I've in mind Hendrix - Stones and Zappa but I must miss a few ones for sure). :worthy:

Another massive thanks to ridleybradout for the magnificent artwork and lot of consuming bandwith share. :luv:

Here is Lisbon. We did this before shn or FLAC, so we burned right to CD after mastering. I have about 3/4 them ripped to FLAC. If there is enough interest I'll somehow share them all. I may torrent or just send someone a flash drive to share.

Listening to Atlanta right now...man.

I'm generally of the mind that Matt and Jack are PJ's two best, most significant drummers, but two songs that I think Dave A. played better than anyone: "Daughter" and "Whipping."

Will I be banned from this thread if I ask whether or not these are available in MP3?

They are. Just follow the original link--the folder at the top labeled "MP3" has everything you'll need.

I really should take the plunge into the world of FLAC. I tried it once and it made my iTunes act funny.

iTunes can't handle flac. I tried it with a plugin once and it just didn't work smoothly at all. Go download Winamp and use that for your FLAC listening pleasure.

You can, but not directly from the FLAC files as iTunes won't take them.

Are you on a Mac? I use a nifty little program called XLD that can convert from FLAC to Apple Lossless and automatically add the converted tracks into iTunes. I'm sure something equivalent exists for PC.

I am on a Mac. I'm going to check out XLD.

Thanks!
