Eddie Vedder
Carré Theatre
Amsterdam, NL
July 26, 2012
Show Two Set List

(intro music "Tuolumne")
01. Walking The Cow-(Daniel Johnston)
02. Wishlist
03. You're True
04. Goodbye
05. More Than You Know-(Rose, Eliscu, Youmans)
(Ed addresses the audience in Dutch. He switches to English and talks about how beautiful the building is as well as the people in the building. He talks about the long history of the Carré and how developers wanted to tear it down and build a hotel in the 1960's. He says developers need to develop taste. "This next song is about developers.")
06. Soon Forget
(Ed talks about how he never thought he would be able to travel and his friends in The Red Hot Chili Peppers getting tattoos in Amsterdam. Ed got his tattoo at Hanky Panky's when he and Pearl Jam first came to Holland. He then rolls up his pant leg to show the tattoo. He asks the people in the upper seats if they can see it. He then pretends to start to remove his pants to make it easier to see the tattoo.)
07. Elderly Woman Behind The Counter In A Small Town
08. Driftin'
(Ed asks for the back drop to be lit so people can see the circus tent painted on it. He comments that this is the first time he has played where the tent on the back drop looks like what used to be in the original space. This is reference to the Carré Theatre's origin as a circus.)
09. Setting Forth
10. Far Behind
11. Guaranteed
12. Rise
13. Long Nights w/Glen Hansard playing bass
14. Immortality
15. Just Breathe
16. Unthought Known
(Ed explains that the next song was for a film and he played all the instruments, which he can't do here so he needs the help of the tape machine onstage with him.)
17. Better Days
Encore Break 1
(Ed invites Mirella, a woman who started a Dutch fan club for Pearl Jam up on stage. She had broken her ankle at a Pearl Jam show earlier in the year. Ed shows her the book he bought her and thanks her for coming. He invites her to sit on stage wherever she likes while he plays a song for her)
18. Bugs

19. Society w/ Glen Hansard-(Jerry Hannan)
20. Sleepless Nights-(Boudleaux Bryant, Felice Bryant) [played busker style at the front of the stage with no microphones or amplification]
21. Falling Slowly w/Glen Hansard-(Hansard, Irglová)
(Ed mentions that it is a couple of people's birthdays today. A woman in the audience whoops. Ed says "Raymond, I thought your voice would be deeper". He then says that a local crew member got his brother tickets to the show tonight for his birthday and that it is also the birthday of long time front of house engineer Greg "Nelly" Nelson. He says "Greg has been with us for a very long time but he is about to have a baby. I mean his wife is about to have a baby. It is nice to see that Nelly is finally doing something worth while with his life". He then invites the people having birthdays today to share in the next song)
22. Forever Young-(Bob Dylan)
23. The End
24. Rockin' In The Free World
Encore Break 2
(Ed thanks the local crew and promoters for treating everyone so well. Mirella is onstage by Glen playing the tambourine.)
25. Hard Sun w/ Glen Hansard and Mirella -(Peterson)
26. Dream A Little Dream-(Gus Kahn, Wilbur Schwandt, Fabian Andree)

That Bugs was pretty damn awesome, plus more awesome for the gesture. This setlist garnered more interest in me than 95% of the sets of the recent PJ tour.

B should get her to write about her experience on the front page of TSIS. So cool.

That's actually a good idea. I just sent her a message asking if she'd do it.

I know it's a good idea. That is why I posted it.
