this might be the most ridiculous thing they've ever done.

even the target manager's convention thing made some logical sense, but this?

how does playing a corporate convention make more sense than playing a festival?

"a" festival is fine, with similar types of artists and with somewhat similar fanbases. i just don't see how this crowd is going to have much interest in a rock band made up of 50 year olds who haven't been "big" in 15 years.

will we get an epic betterman sing along?

and the corporate convention makes some sense since the band has an affiliation with the company. i totally disagree with their choice to participate in something like that, but there's some logic to it. this festival? just doesn't make sense to me.

sounds like you just dont like jay z

Pretty much.

i don't listen to jay-z, so i'm pretty indifferent to him. this could be a wu-tang headed festival and i'd feel the same way. my thing is just that i don't get how PJ fits in.

I know Stone's a rap fan, or at least cited it as something he listened to. Remember the Ice Cube poster in the No Code liner notes? It'll be election season, Philadelphia. Just because the rest of the acts aren't rock bands doesn't mean this isn't a good thing. And I'm sure they're also tired of playing to us lame white people at every gig.

But what's the deal? Is there a schedule out? Is Pearl Jam playing both nights? The $100 tickets that went on sale today are all gone.

standard festival setlist.

Agreed. This is not the place to demo new material or jam out a b-side, regardless of the band's history with the east coast's second shittiest city.

What's the first?

Thank you. I figured it was so obvious, no one would even ask.

I just can't support Jay Z or AB on this one. If it were PJ alone, I would go...but I'm not interested in seeing any of the other acts; nor supporting an a-hole like Jay.

stone was on the radio in philly the night brad played here and it sounded like they were only gonna play the 2nd night w jay z headling the fight night. but who really knows until its actually announced.

i really dont get the negativity. its not like its just hip hop acts and pearl jam. x is a punk rock band, d'angelo is a soul singer, dirty projectors are a rock band. its a decent mix of artists so far. but lets still hope wu tang is involved somehow.

as far as the setlist goes, i kinda expect a standard festival setlist w/ something like "crown of thorns" thrown in. i wouldnt be shocked if they did some kinda weird cover w/ a guest though.
