This is the best reason to go. If you don't have the time or bank to travel to see the band in Europe this year or next year (or the year after or the year after that one), then you should take the pittance the band gives you. They aren't getting any younger.

well that's no reason to feel out of place. But if it is to you, I'm sure a festival put on by Jay-Z will have a much more diverse audience than the spectrum PJ shows.

I know I shouldn't but I do. Let me explain. Grew up listening to Classic Rock, Heavy/Speed Metal...went to see The Doors movies in the 80's. Had a bunch of racist pricks throwing beer cans at me, my sister and our friend and telling us we didn't belong there...what are black people doing here watching this movie.

Since then, I feel some sort of way as a black female, loving groups such as PJ, AIC, Soundgardern, etc. and going to concerts and having dirty looks because, YIKES A BLACK GIRL IS HERE.

I missed PJ in Philly as they closed out the Spectrum for this purpose...and I do NOT want to do that again. This is why I didn't go see Stone/BRAD tonight in Philly. *sighs* I can't make you understand...I wish I could :(

No I very much understand and am saddened to hear that. But just cause harassment like that happened back in the day doesn't mean it'll happen now. I think these days a concert of a band like Pearl Jam, Metallica, Radiohead, or any other "rock band that white people like" are mostly filled with fans without prejudices. Of course there's always a douche here or a douche there that will give you a strange look. But in addition to giving a black girl a strange look, he'll also give the person with the crazy tattoo a strange look, the girl with the pink emo hair a strange look, the guy who looks like Willie Nelson a strange look, etc. Cause he's a loser.

I can't imagine a Brad show being a rough time for anyone. I'll give you that there are a lot of dbags at Pearl Jam concerts though. Personally, I think its just Philadelphia....

Wait, Pearl Jam shows are racially integrated? I just figured it was against the law for a black person to attend since I've never seen one at a show before.

Also attractive women. I figured they were banned too. No?

It was probably just Martin Lawrence dressed up as Big Mama. Don't get too excited.
