I really don't think there can be too many or a bad "Eddie performing along with Jay-Z on [insert Jay-Z song here]" joke.

Keep 'em coming.

I heard the first 300 people through the gate will get a coupon for 50% off a post stabbing blood transfusion during the show. I'm hoping to sneak out and get mine while Mike solos during Even Flow!

I'm a black female. :haha:

Yeah, I doubt there will be too many black people at a Festival with Jay-Z, Drake, Beyonce and D'Angelo that takes place in PHILADELPHIA.

I'm gonna ignore you fucks and just say how strange that lineup is for an aging alternative rock band to be playing at.

this might be the most ridiculous thing they've ever done.

even the target manager's convention thing made some logical sense, but this?

I don't know, it doesn't seem that insane to me. Is it really that different from playing Lollapalooza or any of the many European festival shows they do?

Of course, on the face of it, it's kind of funny to imagine Pearl Jam playing with a bunch of hip hop and R n' B artists, but I can equally imagine that seeming absurdity appealing to the band.

Also, like I said earlier in this thread, you just know Stone would be pushing for them to do it once the offer came in.

My general feeling is that any exposure to music that isn't classic rock can only be good for Pearl Jam. Here's hoping Jig decides to make a full tour out of this--Pearl Jam's next album will be great.

This went so well the last time Pearl Jam played before Kayne West.

Here's hoping for some collaborations.

I find this glaringly odd at this stage of their careers too. In 1992-93, this would have been very fitting for them.

Who knows though, maybe they'll play a really unique set? Maybe this will inspire them?

how does playing a corporate convention make more sense than playing a festival?

"a" festival is fine, with similar types of artists and with somewhat similar fanbases. i just don't see how this crowd is going to have much interest in a rock band made up of 50 year olds who haven't been "big" in 15 years.

will we get an epic betterman sing along?

and the corporate convention makes some sense since the band has an affiliation with the company. i totally disagree with their choice to participate in something like that, but there's some logic to it. this festival? just doesn't make sense to me.

Agreed. This is not the place to demo new material or jam out a b-side, regardless of the band's history with the east coast's second shittiest city.
