Regarding the poster, is Todd McFarlane a PJ fan, and is this the first time a poster has overtly used a known pop culture character? Interesting this also pops up around Spawn's 20th anniversary.

Yes, PJ poster. Or maybe first time using a licensed character? I can think of a Halloween poster where they riffed on Dracula, Frankenstein, Wolfman. Who knows, maybe Bill Watterson's a fan, too, and we'll see Calvin and Hobbes Pearl Jam posters when he comes out of retirement.

that'd be cool. first that came to mind was the tom tomorrow posters from the spectrum shows. loads of "characters" in those.

03. Do The Evolution

i'm just going to edit the header from here on... i just wanted to make sure folks saw things had started and that i wasn't guessing.

the '06 France poster was a spoof of Alfred Neuman. Definitely has a George W twist, but the reference is undeniable

Solid 2nd and 3rd. I'm not a fan of the Small Town opener... but that's just personal taste

this isn't their first comic book character. ghost rider was used back in '98.

i didn't remember, i looked it up: http://www.thecolorsblend.com/

they also had a comic book cover styled poster that tour, so this style has been done as well.

also, i just remembered that the first show i ever saw, albany '03, had the statue of liberty on the poster. that's a recognizable image for you.
