Because a bunch of 40 somethings belting out "we are young/get out of my fucking face" is just plain silly. Though no sillier than Roger Daltrey stuttering through Hope I die before I get old.

Ok now I really don't get it. Just because the band got a little older means they wont play asong about beign young. I kinda thought thats what they were all about, youtful angst, rebelling against authority etc?

This whole "they can't play leash anymore because they aren't young anymore" is totally ridiculous. A song is a snapshot of a point in time that it was written. You are NEVER at that same point physically, emotionally, spiritually, geographically, etc. but does that mean you can never play a song again. Of course not. Using this logic they should never play Elderly Woman in a large city, because its about a small town. Or Parting Ways, if they aren't in a breakup. and on, and on.....
