This and "smoking" are easily the two best methods for cooking meat. |

thodoks wrote: am i a weirdo for liking a grilled flank/skirt steak more than a grilled strip or sirloin? not at all. grilled flank steak with a good marinade and cooked for the proper time can be done incredibly. plus, its "healthier." having said that, I completely effed up my grilled flank steak last night and it came out like charbroiled shoeleather. big disappointment. |

thodoks wrote: am i a weirdo for liking a grilled flank/skirt steak more than a grilled strip or sirloin? no, It's just a different cut and flavor. Who says the cheap bits have to be the worst? Chimichurri sauce and flank steak kills. I love this cedar plank salmon I've been doing lately with sesame oil and I believe brown sugar and soy sauce glaze. It's really good. I then use the remnance to cook steak or burgers. One of the best steaks I've had was served on a cedar plank. It's kind of a sin to cook on gas I know, but most of the time for me speed is important so I've been hoping to try one of the new Char Broil infared grills. They are easy to clean and the heat is indirect. With wood chips and no open flame....I'm thinking that should work pretty well. |

Whatsz your favorite way to grill? Gas? Charcoal? The best steak I ever had was over hot coals from a man made fire. |

charcoal yields the best results, but gas is convenient and close enough - and wins out. |
