Any bookstore or even amazon.com has crock pot cookbooks for under $10. Its well worth the investment.

I lost my crock pot in the divorce. I got the rotisserie though. I used to make a nice stew w a whole chuck roast. I'd use red wine and the juices from the pan I deglaze w beef stock after browning the roast. I miss that thing.

I like using it for dips too.

you can make an easy sausage cheese dip.

Just cook up a little package of bob evans zesty hot sausage in the pan and dump it in the crock pot with a pound of velvita processed cheese and a little 10oz can of Rotel tomatoes

It is quick and easy and no one ever complains

Vicky, if you don't mind, post or pm me your recipe for beef stew. I have a crock pot, but am short of ideas for dinners for me and my three year old (my wife is a veggie).

I use the crock pot to make a Kaluha Pork that tastes almost as good as if it were cooked in the ground at a luau in Hawaii.
