Does beer actually quench thirst? Like if you're really thirsty, should you reach for a beer? Or will it just make things worse?

Sometimes I feel like it helps, but other times I feel like I'm making that up because I just like drinking beer, yaknow?

This one was fun. From Schmaltz.
9 bottles worth of 7 beers and 1 beer that is twice the beer of any other beer in the gift pack.

I like Schmaltz. Lenny's RIPA is good. Figured they would go 8 for Hanukkah

They did go 8. The 9th bottle was capped empty. lol. My bf drank lenny's RIPA before I could snag it. The gift pack came with Hanukkah candles, a sweet 16 glass and instructions for building a beer menorah.

Schmaltz is great.

Did I post that I bought 12 bottles of the Trader Joe's Vintage Ale? Well I have three left.

All Sierra Nevada 12-packs were on sale today. I chose this over Torpedo. I'm regretting it a little. It's not my favorite.

You know, I'm not that crazy about any of their offerings. The mainstay is good, even very good, but I've never had anything particular special from SN.

Are any of you into sour beers? Flanders Reds, Oud Bruins and the like? I just picked up a few Jolly Pumpkin La Rojas for 10.99 a piece (about 3 bucks off). IMO, the best American made sour out there. Jolly Pumpkin kicks ass in general.

I've gotten into sours over the past couple years. The best American made sours that I've come across have been courtesy of Cascade Brewing.

Not too bad, but nothing out of this world. When I want a pale ale that's not too bitter, I might grab another six-pack of this stuff.

Cool. Any one that you recommend in particular? You can order 750ml bottles right off their website and I think I might grab a couple.

I live about an hour from the SN brewery, so we get a lot of it around here. I know it's widely available around the country, but there are multiple SN beers on tap pretty much everywhere here.

I don't get all of the hype over the Celebration. It's good, but not that good.

The Torpedo, Tumbler, Ruthless Rye and Kellerweis are all excellent.

The Pale Ale is the one beer by SN I don't like. To me, it's an awful example of the style.

Personally, I love the Vine. Bubonic and Vlad were excellent as well. I've never had the Kriek, but I've heard it is decent.

I still have not reported to Skitch Patterson about all the beers I received.

SN is a great brewery for any kind of hoppy beer, but their other stuff is just OK in my opinion. They do hops extremely well.

SN is definitely a hops-centric brewery. Enjoying this while I'm in Tampa:

I enjoy just about everything SN puts out with their Pale Ale a standard in the fridge.

Enjoying a Bell's Special Double Cream Stout, on the texture scale this brew is off the fuckin' charts.

Cigar City cans now? The Jai Alai and the Maduro Brown I imagine? I've had some really good beers from them. Loved the Guava Grove. Had Marshall Zhukov's last year. Was a little underwhelmed by that one, but I think some of that just had to do with my sky high expectations.
