Hey, why are other people recommending beers in MY thread! This is the "B Recommends Beer" thread!
I am going to try Tennants, Victory's Golden Monkey, & Mackeson Triple Stout really soon.

I had a brewer's club meeting last night and someone who had been in Bejing brought back a pineapple and a lemon beer by Yanjing Brewery. They were a pretty cool new taste and definitely palatable for any of you who find yourself stuck on hard cider and alco-pops.

Hey B, have you ever had the Eliot Ness lager from Great Lakes Brewing Co. in Ohio? Had it with dinner last night. C'est magnifique!
It's been so long, I'd be lying if I said I remembered it. But Great Lakes Brewery has always been one of my favorites. I usually preferred the Dortmunder Gold.
I met the brewer there once. I berated him for not distributing to NC, but they don't feel like they can ensure quality and freshness with a wider distribution than they have.

I'm going to hijack B's thread for moment. I also posted this in the Corona thread:

There's a nice little beer called Steam Whistle. It's a microbrewery located on the shores of Lake Ontario (across the street from Skydome/Roger Centre and down the street from the Air Canada Centre). I believe you can only get it in Ontario and Alberta, though.

Just had The Reverend by Avery Brewery in Boulder.
I highly recommend it. You can "sense" fruit w/o the taste taking over the beer. I usually don't like Quadrupel's, but this one got me!
Beer Style: Belgian Quadrupel Ale
Hop Variety: Styrian Goldings
Malt Variety: Two-row barley, cara 8, cara 20, caramel 15L, caramel 40L, Belgian special B
OG: 1.093
Alcohol By Volume: 10.0%
IBU's: 10
Color: Tawny

I wish I could get New Belgium beers in NC. I had Fat Tire out west, and I loved it.

OLD CHUB
Scottish Style Ale by Oskar Blues Brewery, Lyons, Colorado
ABV: 8.0%
"High Altitude. High Attitude. High Land. High Ya! No Rice!"
"We've heard cans are made for boring pusillanimous beer. We couldn't agree less. Old Chub is a behemoth of a beer brewed in the tradition of the finest Scottish-style ales. We brew it with huge quantities of caramel and chocolate malt, and a touch of smoked malt. Our liquid philanthropy is your 12-ounce snub to conformity."

Arrrghh, Fat Tire is awesome. I haven't had any microbrews or real quality stuff lately and it sucks. I did buy a pitcher of Heineken as a 19 year-old yesterday though.
