I've tried many, many wines over the years and the only one that was a perfect fit for my tastes is Villa Cieri Sangiovese. I don't even know how to describe it but just about every wine I drink seems too sweet or too bitter for me. That one is perfect and even a little tart which I like.

There's a certain kind of Beaujoulais that a store near here sells that I absolutely love. Most of these wines are way too sweet for me, but somehow this one is just perfect....I really can't tell the difference between it and the other Beaujoulais though, the only difference is the label design.

Anyway, its really good, and practically the only wine I buy anymore.

I just spent way too much money on wine for drinking tonight and tomorrow. I probably won't be sober again until mid-Monday.

Let it begin.

When I go out on Friday/Saturday night I'll drink beer and maybe one or two mixed drinks. But when I'm at home or at a nicer party I perfer wine, no doubt. I didn't until around 30 I started drinking it for the heart benefits (honestly). Love a nice glass of cab after a steak or spaghetti dinner. Hell, even after a slice of pizza.
I go through a bottle or so a week. I'm always trying different reds. Right now I like the Chilean and Argentine wines but Aussie/NZ wines aren't bad either. And price really is no factor on taste; there's plenty of good stuff in $10-$15 price range.
Hard to beat the French. Even the cheap table wine is usually wonderful.
One thing about wine; if you're drinking to get a buzz it's better than beer and for a lot less calories. Gotta watch the hangovers though.

I cannot stand to drink wine even a single day after the bottle was opened. That sucks because I don't always feel like drinking a bottle of wine in one night, and I hate spending $10-$15 only to have a couple of glasses. Although, I believe it was a fellow RMer that said wine drunk = sexy drunk. I have to agree.

Corny wine jokes are good too. lol...

I tried a Shiraz from Australia once, and it was much too bitter. After you finished a glass or two, you got cotton mouthed and you looked like you just chewed a pack of Black Jack trick gum. I can't remember the label but, it's turned me off to Shiraz since.

I'll try most any wine. But if I nurse the first glass, I won't ask for a second glass.

I collect Juno Maidenhead wines. I'm currently on the hunt for :: this bottle. ::

I generally buy interesting labels with my preferred types of wine, while they on sale. Give them a try. If I find a good wine that way, I buy more. I keep at least 10 bottles in my basement year round. At Christmas I part with half of them as gifts.

I can't drink wine in the summertime. Summertime is reserved for beers and brelly drinks. I prefer wine around this time of the year though.

I bought 3 bottles from a local winery (Carrousel) in the U.P. Michigan. I picked up a really yummy Baltic Blush, A Reisling, and a Chianti. The blush was very tasty. Perfect with steak. I tasted all of these at the winery. I also tasted a blueberry wine. They were sold out. I know why! It was like liquid winerotica.

Anyhoo....my favoritest flavor though is white merlot.

And I'm not afraid to admit that big commercial wineries DO put out some fantastic wines, for very cheap. They are proven, and you can bet you won't be disappointed with a regular favorite. Sutter Home's white merlot, does it for under $7 a bottle.

i mostly drink southamerican or spanish wines. gato negro is a chilean red wine that is delicious and cheap, specially cabernet. at my favourite pizza place, owned by uruguayan guys, serve a delicious uruguayan wine that i never got the name, and kinda cheap, also.

actually wines are relatively cheap here, even the most expensive wine is no more than 20 dlls. [besides special reserves,of course]

but don't try mexican wine! tastes like vinegar :x

I usually drink one bottle of wine every sunday, i'll get drunk, and fall asleep early so i can get to work on time on mondays.

I got into wine at college, my first bottle was a normal 10 dollar bottle of Blackstone Merlot , i thought it was awesome back then.

Tasting Blackstone now its pretty unremarkable, but their Napa Valley Merlot is very good.

also check out the VAMPIRE brand of wines. I was reluctant to try them because of the vampire/spooky marketing that adheres to goth kids, but these are actually damn good wines.

http://www.vampire.com

Their Zinfandel and Syrah are marketed under the Dracula name, and cost about twice as much as the other vampires (20 bucks or so for the Draculas, 10 for the Vampires), but the Zinfandel i tried last week was absolutely awesome.

Those Vampire wines are pretty good. My wife is really into the Anne Rice Vampire novels, and my brother in law got her a bottle of their merlot awhile back as kind of a gag gift. It was some good stuff. I'd recommend it for sure.
