my daughter and me went on a little hike today and she spotted something like this:

we ate a couple of thick slices of it and it was delicious (with chicken/maple syrup broth) but now i have a bagful of in my fridge - any idea shroom-folks?

i found a bunch of them today just in the street by my appartment:

they're like the ones you buy at the grocery store except they could fill 2 crates each and they have a better taste : agarica bitorqus

The farm where I work had thousands of the little buggers a month or so ago. Made for a lot of good soup.

No magic ones sadly. Apparently NZ is really lucky with them, but I am yet to benefit.

All of them. But I can't eat mushrooms unless they're very disguised in food.

Certainly not by themselves.

I found a Boletus today. I say 'I', my boyfriend found it and made me crawl around the stinging nettles to get to the ones that hadn't gone rotten. Tasted good though. No idea what kind of Boletus...

First mushroom i ever found was a shaggy inkcap.

I'm trying to think what it looked like before it went off... It's now a dirty brown colour - pinky orange when you dig into it and had a redish coloured stem with the honeycomb gills.

actually, i think it's going green now. I should probably stop tasting it, god, i'm weird.
