nice pic!
it looks like an agaric but also like a deadly amanitae...i wouldn't eat it unless i'm totally sure. and the north-american species may be quite different from the euro ones so i won't give you any other advice than "be very careful"

I don't know, I thought maybe it was a Death Cap because it was pure white but I know really it needs more analysis than that. I did find a picture of the flower-mushroom I saw though.

I think I just found a Wood Blewit. Except it was growing in a place I call 'poop alley', so I wouldn't eat it even if I knew what it was. Really pretty lilac colour though. I'm really excited now.

i saw many mushrooms that looked quite a bit like those but i ended up leaving them there as they also resemble some cortinarius of dubious edibility. ...and a mushroom tends to concentrate its immediate area's pollution so yeah, i think you've made a good decision

Today I decided to start taking it semi seriously. I took my first couple of spore prints and actually read a couple of fungi books properly. My other half and I found masses of field mushrooms with some odd ones in between. (There was a green one which I think i've identified but I can't remember without looking it back up). I've found some really interesting things lately, it's like finding treasure...

I thought I was confident in the end that it was a wood Blewit because apparently they grow along paths but yeah, it was the possible pee'd on by a dog thing that put me off.
