Guys, next weekend, I'm going to be running this race next weekend. It's a team ironman with food. I might even end up on Travel Channel's Man vs. Food.

Looks like I'll be RACER #2. Wish me luck!

Quote:
RACER 1 -- eats Diablo del Mar at Blu, then runs to Central Campus Pool, performs aquatic activity, and tags Racer 2.

RACER 2 -- bikes from Central Campus Pool to Four Square. Eats Bull City BLT, then continutes biking to Nosh and tags Racer 3.

RACER 3 -- eats Tomato Triple Threat at Nosh, then runs to Dain's and tags Racer 4.

RACER 4 -- eats The Portable Defibrillator at Dain's, then runs to Daisy Cakes, where all team members are waiting.

TEAM -- each team member eats a one of Sunny-Side Up Cupcake, Strawberry Shortcake, or Double Chocolate Cupcake [which cupcake is determined by dietary preferences indicated during registration], then entire team runs to the Durham Farmers' Market and crosses the finish line holding hands.

Click here for descriptions of the food.

Diablo del Mar sounds fantastic. I would think devouring that would be incredibly easy.

I had just gotten the details of the race. I was very excited.

Racer 4 is going to have to be special. If I ate The Portable Defibrillator, I don't think I'd want to run anywhere.

Good luck, man.

Yeah, I think that guy's fucked. Racer 1's bad, but not THAT bad. My leg's pretty easy, and Racer 3 can't eat pork, so he just has to eat a dumb tomato sandwich.

I like tomato sandwiches.

How far are the two bike rides? How big is the BLT? I'm confused at this challenge. . . .

Bikeride then tastey treat then bikeride?

According to the official details, it's 2.2 miles of biking, BLT, and then 5.5 miles of biking. I'll also have to run 2 blocks at the end after eating a maple cupcake with cinnamon cream cheese icing and candied bacon.

To add to Racer 4's misery, he has to eat that massive burger, then run the longest run (2.5 miles), then eat one of those cupcakes, and run two more blocks.

Let's say the difference in calories btw a turkey sandwich with mustard on whole wheat and this BLT is 200 calories. You don't think I'll burn that off w/ a 7 mile bike ride?

Restaurant-style BLT = 15 pts.
40 min. of cycling (>12mph) = 6 pts.

I've got 23 points left for the day.

:nice:

I think we were in the 30s until my teammate had to eat the giant chili bacon cheeseburger with slaw and a hotdog. I know for a fact, the team that led the first 3 legs by a large margin got passed while eating that burger.
