tried some Kona the other day. and not that stuff you can find at any store around these parts. straight from the big island.

My sister brought me some 100% Kona coffee back from Hawaii, best coffee I've ever had. The blended stuff is alright, but that 100% stuff is fantastic.

it really is. a friend of mine gets it mailed to his house for free every month...i'm going to be over there much more now that i know this.

In the last five years or so, I've had to back off coffee after 4pm or I can't sleep at night. I joke about it being a sign that I'm getting old, but my parents drink 2-3 cups of coffee with their dinner and usually one right before bed. WTF?

I've very rarely experienced an acid problem in my stomach. It may be that my family has some sort of coffee tolerance gene or some such nonsense.

How do you guys make your coffee?

I go up the nice woman behind the counter at Dunkin' Donuts, she sees me, and then makes my coffee without even asking what I'll have (medium, cream, light sugar). It's wonderful.

I use a french press most of the time but I have a drip coffee maker, a percolater and a stove top espresso maker too. And a hand grinder and an electric grinder.

When I want to really get into the "ritual" of making coffee, it's hand-ground and perked. That tastes the best to me.

The drip is good when I'm in the biggest hurry because I can set it up the night before and use the timer or can just get it ready and push the button, not like the french press where its more of a 3 step process.

I rarely use the espresso maker.

Filtered water makes a difference too.

I've never tried the Keurig machine things, never even seen one up close. I always thought it was like the International Delight Coffees or something.
