In the last five years or so, I've had to back off coffee after 4pm or I can't sleep at night. I joke about it being a sign that I'm getting old, but my parents drink 2-3 cups of coffee with their dinner and usually one right before bed. WTF?

I've very rarely experienced an acid problem in my stomach. It may be that my family has some sort of coffee tolerance gene or some such nonsense.

My sister brought me some 100% Kona coffee back from Hawaii, best coffee I've ever had. The blended stuff is alright, but that 100% stuff is fantastic.

:nice: I'd do the same. My wife's dad goes to Hawaii now and then for business, so I need to make sure he brings me some back next time he goes. Jamaica's Blue Mountain Coffee is pretty damn good too.

My parents also drink coffee at night, after dinner. Very strange.

My grandad makes a pot in the morning and just reheats it throughout the day.

Used to have a great Krups Coffee Maker/Espresso maker. Last year my Mother-In-Law bought us a Keurig so the Krups went to my financially challenged little Bro. Well, the Keurig sucks and the cups are way too expensive so I now use a French press and it's pretty damn good.
Moral of this story is, Keurigs suck for home use if you drink more than a small mug a day. I wouldn't mind one at work though.

I use a french press most of the time but I have a drip coffee maker, a percolater and a stove top espresso maker too. And a hand grinder and an electric grinder.

When I want to really get into the "ritual" of making coffee, it's hand-ground and perked. That tastes the best to me.

The drip is good when I'm in the biggest hurry because I can set it up the night before and use the timer or can just get it ready and push the button, not like the french press where its more of a 3 step process.

I rarely use the espresso maker.

I go up the nice woman behind the counter at Dunkin' Donuts, she sees me, and then makes my coffee without even asking what I'll have (medium, cream, light sugar). It's wonderful.

I'm such a damn addict I can't make it out the door without at least a cup under my belt.

That's pretty awesome, you don't even have to buy her breakfast after.

I've come to hate drip coffee, and I hate the Keurig machines even more. Perhaps I'll try a French press and start fresh grinding my coffee as well. I've had it like that a couple times and it's been fantastic.

Filtered water makes a difference too.

Go for it and enjoy.

I've never tried the Keurig machine things, never even seen one up close. I always thought it was like the International Delight Coffees or something.

The coffee doesn't taste bad from the Keurig it's just expensive and uses too much damn plastic. And it makes little cups.
