Here's a site with Mass. orchards, including varieties and hours of operation. Almost all of them have a pick-your-own option.

That's a long story, but here it goes. Born in England to an English mom and U.S. military dad. Split time in Europe (mostly Germany) and the U.S. southwest (Texas/AZ/NM). Graduated in PHX, then moved to TX, where I went to college and met my wife. Then moved back to PHX, where we have lived for 12ish years.

A simple Phoenix would have done.

Edit: Sorry, it was the "from" part of your question. Us military brats have a hard time with that sometimes.
"Where do you live?" Would have netted your desired answer.

What part(s) of Texas have you spent time in?

Midland/Odessa and San Antonio. I'm a weirdo, I actually like West Texas a lot. Something about the starkness of that landscape that I love.
I also love the Davis Mountains! My wife and I WILL retire to Alpine. It's becoming a Mecca for dirty hippies now, so I hope it doesn't change too much.

West Texas is my Achilles' heel when it comes to Texas geography, though I've been to a lot of areas west of Texas. Weird, huh?

No Marfa Lights? No Big Bend?

I've actually toyed around with taking a ride on the Sunset Limited before. Still may do it within the next two years.

I mean, I'm familiar with things like the Marfa Lights and Big Bend, I just couldn't describe any of that through first-hand experience. Not counting a car ride to Durango, CO when I was 16 or a flight to El Paso when I was 9, I've never seen Texas west of Kerrville.

Nothing like a hot summer day along the shores of beautiful Lake Nasworthy. Followed by a couple of happy hour appetizers and shooters at Cheddars in downtown San Angelo.

It's possible. I'm flying to Logan and renting a car in order to drive to Gorham, New Hamshire for my future bro-in-law's bachelor party.

Hope you get to make this drive during the day. I've spent a lot of time in the White Mountains and they're awesome. You're in for a cool ride. If you're not too pressed for time, I recommend the kancamagus highway and bear notch road as great scenic choices for your path to Gorham.

Read, did you consume this? I'd hate for you to miss out.

it was more of a stylistic choice... the green of the Granny matched the avocado better...

I checked out that blog you recommended. I was disappointed Honeycrisps only garnered 1 star. Yet, Macouns got three? Not sure if I can trust that blogger. Or, maybe my apple pallette isn't as refined as I thought.

Bizarrely though, that blog has given me impetus to make a list of apples I need to try. Going to the local farm this weekend for some testing. I can't seem to find Pink Ladies anywhere yet.

Seriously, give some of your impressions in this thread and photos are welcome.

Alert!
Just had 2 mediocre Cripps Pink (Pink Lady) apples. The Chile and Washington state varieties were mixed in the same stand. Not to sound like an apple racist, but the ones from Washington state are superior. I apologize to all of our South American brethren.

Took a special trip to Whole Foods and was disappointed with the varieties. Still, picked up Honeycrisps, Jonagolds, Fujis and Granny Smiths. All organic, with the Fujis and Granny Smiths being locally grown.
