When I was in Boston, I purchased a new (to me) apple variety in Copley Square called a "Spencer." Now I know what apple heaven is like. |

The Macoun is tasty and it's no surprise that it is thought to be the "mystery parent" of the Honeycrisp. |

Went to the cider mill today and they had a sign saying todays cider was made with honey crisp and gala apples. It is top notch. |

For my future brother-in-law's bachelor party, we stayed in a cabin deep in the woods of the White Mountains, cooking on gas stoves with whatever was brought in. A few of those spencers that I purchased in Copley Square went into a batch of warm apple cider that I put on the stove during the coldest night. After adding bourbon and a touch of some local maple syrup, the sliced apples really took on some character. I wish there was a decent apple culture in Texas. |

No way. I'm just heavily influenced by an internet full of northerners. |

Reid needs to learn how to swear better to be a northerner at heart. |

Pinatas (Pinova) at my Safeway. Sweet at first, with a slightly tart finish. So good! |

Grabbed some Green Dragons and Ambrosias today. Green Dragons were disappointing, but the Ambrosias are nice. |
