I'm going to a stock-the-bar party this weekend. Where a friend has a bar, but no liquor. So everyone takes a bottle of their favorite liquor to donate to the bar.

What would you take?

I so rarely drink mixed drinks, I have no idea what's good and/or versatile.

every good bar has a bottle of Jack behind it

if you're a really nice friend, you'd bring a bottle of Tanqueray 10.

Word. I've been drinking 10 and tonics lately. I love 'em and i was never a gin drinker before that.

I would go with vodka. Its a versitile drink that can be mixed with vertually anything...like Orange soda and milk...tastes like a cream ice pop.

A nice bottle of Jameson. However, for the average drinker, something like rum or vodka that can be mixed with various other beverages will probably be your best bet.

Grey Goose is my favorite vodka. Mix Grey Goose with some tonic and lime and you're set. It's a fantasticly refreshing drink. I would recommend not skimping on your basics (Gin, Vodka, Whiskey, etc.). If you're going to mix it with a pop of some sort, you can skimp there (Sam's Choice rather than Coke for example.)

I agree. Goose is the best vodka around.

It's not needed if you are mixing it with coke or seven up or sour drinks like a club special. That stuff drowns out the taste of the vodka anyway. I don't like to spend the extra for it if i'm not gonna taste it.

It is a neccesity though if you are using tonic or soda water.
