What is Memphis BBQ known for? I was there for a night when I drove from Austin back to Chicago and know practically nothing about it.

KC bbq is the best I've ever had. It's really the only thing I miss about living in KS.


Did you got to school in Lawrence? I have a sister there, and reading this thread I think I finally have a good reason to accompany my parents when they visit her.

And if yes, what is the drive like from Lawrence to Kansas City?

about 30-45 minutes, though there's an Oklahoma Joe's in olathe, which is probably only 25 minutes from lawrence

I went to school in Manhattan, KS. But I had a lot of friends in Lawrence. Been there many times. Great new(ish) burger joint there called The Burger Stand. Try the duck fat fries.
