I used to love the Blue Kool-Aid when I was 12.

When making a BBQ sandwich, with what do you applicate? Also, tell me about your bread preferences.

What do you drink with your BBQ? There is a soda (it's red) that is kind of specific to the South that my friend would always get, but I can't remember the name.

Have any of y'all had the S. Carolina style BBQ sauce? It's mustard based, so it's a bit different from what most folks are used to. However, the tangy / spicy flavor is amazing on pulled pork / chicken.

Here is one of the recipes (most probably have the ingredients at home):

4 cups yellow mustard (two 20-ounce bottles of French's mustard should do the trick)
8 ounces of beer (less for thicker sauce, more for thinner sauce)
½ cup apple cider vinegar
8 tablespoons brown sugar
1/2 cup tomato puree
2 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1 tablespoon cayenne
1 tablespoon fresh cracked black pepper
2 teaspoons salt
1 1/2 teaspoons garlic powder

So, I've never been to the restaurant, but the wife reminded me that I've tried some of their food. We went to a Slow Food BBQ cook-off last year, and they were one of the vendors. They're fantastic. :nice:

I'm not as well versed in barbecue as you guys. But I love pulled pork, and prefer the kind that is more vinegar-based. I also concur with whoever said they don't like barbecue sauce cooked into the meat.

I hate mustard so that one looks gross. I'm beginning to think my distaste for pulled pork has come from eating poor quality pulled pork.

Could be. But I gotta tell ya. Even the worst pulled pork I've had has been pretty tasty.
