I will take you out for sushi.

Super! =] Does the place you go to have combos? I mean I figure if there are enough kinds I may find one I like?

Uh, yeah sure why not.

I've only had it a few times too and had a similar experience as you. I do need to try it more and pay attention to what I like and don't like.

If we promise not to tickle each other do you think she'd at least try?

I'm pretty much obsessed with sushi and Japanese food in general

I think this is why most people are a bit surprised when they hear that I've not really had sushi other than that one time. I live in one of the prime fresh seafood locations in the world.

My one experience with sushi? I was in St. Louis. Hah. Kind of backwards.

More affordable than anywhere else, for sure. Even still, if you have to buy it up here you're paying a pretty steep fee, it seems. I've seen it straight off the boat for about $10/pound.

If you're lucky, you know someone who crabs - fresh & free. That's my situation, a neighbor of mine crabs. So a couple times a season we get fresh crab.

Beth, my mom makes some great fish tacos...(would you like to try them?). :|

If you really want to experience sushi, forget about the fancy rolls and just load up on sashimi and nigiri. It's a bit pricier, but you get the full fish flavor. I like rolls, but in small quantities.

I dropped $40 on sushi for lunch Wednesday... We had:
sashimi:
octopus
uni (HOLY CRAP WAS THIS GOOD)

nigiri:
octopus
squid
red snapper (I think)
mackerel
tuna
yellowtail
quail egg
