Anyone else suffer from this?

I never thought I did but I've been eating cereal in the morning recently for the first time in years and have been all sorts of gassy throughout the day.

Feedback?

Dairy causes my stomach to hate me, too.
When I was little my Mother took me to a dietitian because I had the worst eczema on my arms, legs and hands. They told her I had a lactose sensitivity. I've had the eczema issue and acid reflux nearly my entire life. I'm currently eating dairy from time to time (I have a complete weakness for ice cream) and have to take a pill nearly every day just to get to sleep because my heartburn is so bad. My hatred of all things pharmaceutical lead me to veganism for a number of years.
Have you tried rice, soy or almond milk as a substitute? Do you have the same problem with yogurt, cheese or frozen dairy desserts?

Soy milk disgusts me. :(

Your situation sounds much worse than mine. I never get heartburn.

I don't even like Cereal that much so I guess I can cut it out. I like cheese but that doesn't seem to bother me much in small portions.

Word. It's really crazy how certain foods digest - dairy in general all sucks ass for me but the worst is actual milk, like out of a carton/jug. I haven't had a real glass of milk in probably 10 years. Cheese hardly upsets my stomach and yogurt is hit or miss. Something like, Yoplait with a minimal number of probiotics, will keep me up all night. Kefir on the other hand is a lifesaver sometimes.

For some reason I have a harder time with hot dairy than cold. Ice cream won't bother my stomach, but a little bit of whole milk in hot chocolate will make me feel awful. If I use skim in coffee I'm usually okay, not always.

I do agree w/ trying almond milk. I have a soy intolerance, but LOVE almond milk.

My wife used to have this and took cold cultured acidophilus, and it resolved it for her. She used to buy it at whole foods, about $20 for a 60 day supply i think.

Cheese generally contains less lactose as does yoghurt.

Yah, Yogurt doesn't seem to bother me either. Just milk.

I used to be allergic to milk as a kid but I grew out of it.
