You have to convert FLAC/SHN to .wav using the links in the FAQ to make an audio CD. But it will be seemless without the gaps provided by mp3s.

Converting mp3 to FLAC, to the best of my knowledge, is sort of pointless... but can be done. Once a file is compressed down to mp3, it cant be uncompressed...if that makes any sense...;)

if you use nero there is a plug in that will allow you to burn them directly to cd, but if not then there are a programs to convert each of the file type

also there is no point in converting mp3 to flac or shn

i didn't really get this sentence. perhaps it's the late hour or that i know hardly anything about these types of things. i'm guessing the latter, but can you explain what you mean here?

another question...if i have an official boot and i wanted to keep digital copies of it, would it be beneficial to rip the cd into mp3 or flac/shn? if flac/shn, is there a specific program that will rip them into this format?

Meaning, when you burn the show in .wav format...it will not have the breaks in between tracks like when a mp3 show is burned. This doesnt bother some people so you may not have even noticed it.

And if you want to keep a digital file of your boots I would do it in FLAC....but I have yet to do that, so Im not exactly sure how to do it properly....

i guess the few shows that i've gotten through trades and whatnot have been burned properly because there are no breaks between the tracks. it flows straight through. now, the ones that i attempted to burn myself did have skips between songs but i believe those can be taken out by getting rid of the time between tracks.

i'm learning more and more each day.

But with mp3s there will always be a small little pop, unless you edit each individual file. Like I said, it doesnt bother everyone...but its noticable. The way I see it...FLAC/SHN are superior in almost every way (except file size I guess) so why not stick with those...;)

This is not a question but a request to all torrent leechers. Don't jump off the second your dl is done. That's just a total douche move. I noticed the gh comp. had 10 leeches and no seeds so I jump on and of course, 4 people finish and jump off right away. Dick move.

Hope this post is in the right place, I wasn't sure where to put it.

You want 100% quality. Peak just means that the volume has been adjusted to the maximum, sort of like the volume on your radio.

This is probably the wrong section but I'm looking for a certain page. This page had a list of CDR brands with it's manufacturer's IDs showing what was the best from a group of 1 (being the best) to I think a 4. I can't for the life of me, remember it. Does any one know?

So, I burned FLAC directly to CDr in Nero to make my audio CDs, did NOT change the files to wav.

If I go to somebody that has a DVD burner so I can put multiple shows on a DVDr, are the files on the CDr FLAC when I pull them up? I never converted them, so did Nero do it during the rip?

Or, do I somehow have to get the actual FLAC files from my computer to the other computer, then DVD rip? Is there a good way to do this?

I'm trying to avoid doing data discs on CDr, I can't even fit a whole show on one.

Thanks.

well the audio cd you just made using NERO .. the files on that cd would be in .wav format .. not in .flac format.

i would recommend burning the .flac files on the 2 data cdrs or put them on data dvdr for trading/b+p'ing etc..
