That 400GB external Seagate USB/Firewire drive at Fry's Outpost for $189 is forcing me to throw my credit cards out my 17th floor window. MUST . . . NOT . . BUY . . . TWO . . Aaaaargh.

Or maybe I should get one send it to John and then do a reoffer.

Trying to pretend not to see that SONY external DVD burner there for $130 either. My poor laptop burner is dying a slow death. Guess it wasn't designed to burn 20 hours a day.

Oh shit - it IS on Outpost as well...

http://shop1.outpost.com/product/432035 ... IN_RSLT_PG

I do NOT need to buy this. I have no need for it. No need at all.

But...today's overtime almost exactly pays for it. Kinda like someone is trying to tell me something...

Try living in OZ. Dollar is so undervalued gotta mortgage the house for a computer down here... well not quite but if you want the latest, biggest and fastest you do.

Hence I have two mortgages :D

That totally blows that you can't get the same deals as here. HOwever the 600GB is USB only whereas that 500GB one is triple interface. I was at Best Buy and had the 600 in my hands but put it back cause I HAD to buy a new external burner. If the Lacie here had been firewire I would definitey have got both though. Got like 8 things plugged in through USB and nothing on my firewire slots.

OK...here's what's going on with the hard drives!

Ben's shipped out yesterday, after a brief delay of waiting for his address while the forum was down.

Steve's controller card arrived today, so I've installed it and the drive...and begun the copy process.

Thad's drive also arrived today, and will be copied over the next few days. His is smaller, external, and should be pretty quick.

I'll say that both Steve and Thad should be shipping on Monday.
