I offered to do it for you back when you asked in October...you didn't take me up on it...are you sure you want it?

I just sent this to him, so he's all set.

I'm closing my offer for now, guys. My external burner is acting funny, I may have to buy a new one. I think I managed to get this to Canada, U.K., and Australia, hopefully some generous fans there will share the set.

Awesome job again to you guys that put it together. It's a real nice one to have. Thanks!

You're a good man Mr. Ruddock

Glad to have gotten this into your hands, Reid. I know you are a fan and this is a good one to have, yeah?

It's very good to have. I look forward to really sinking my teeth in it for a lot of 2011. I know a lot of my initial assessments of particular tracks and shows are "It's awesome!" or "wow, jack sounds great on corduroy!", but keep in mind that all of this is hitting me at once. I get to the subtleties in time.

It's overwhelming, isn't it? I haven't even checked out any 2009 or 2010 bootlegs yet as I have this monster collection to listen to (again, thanks to Ruddo, what a legend).

And of course props to JasonA and Zoe for compiling this lot. Cheers.

As cool as the shows are (and they are very, very cool), it's worth it just to have Self Polluted and Monkeywrench to listen to while I'm driving around town. Almost makes up for the nosedive radio has taken in the 00s.

True to my word, much of 2011 has been spent listening to these shows. I'm eternally grateful for EH Ruddock for sending this to me.

My project for the later half of 2011 and 2012: Learn the difference in sources. Anyone have any helpful links giving me a crash course or tutorial in this sort of stuff (mostly a translation of some of the less obvious acronyms, run-down on what sources are best, etc..)?

Post some source notes that confuse you and we'll work through them, friend.

Guys, are the West Coast '95 shows on this thing supposed to sound as muffled as they do when I listen to them? Was there a recording issue in that era, or did I just not convert them correctly? As per Chud's advice, I always convert to .wav, but it's possible that I didn't know that when I first got the collection and might have fucked up these '95 shows.

I don't have them handy right now, but the Soldier Field one is the one I really have some problems with because there is like 3 or 4 versions of the thing. I know off the top of my head that DAT is one of the unfamiliar ones I keep running into. Also, what's a matrix in this context?

DAT is digital audio tape, it's high quality digital casette tapes. A matrix is two separate recordings of the same event mixed into one.

None of those Monkeywrench Radio shows from 1995 will sound as crisp and clear as an official boot - they're just recordings made from the mono radio broadcasts the band was doing, it was relatively lo-fi.

Is there a complete list of soundboards from this period that a fan might peruse in order to download? By any chance?

The West Coast '95 shows are matrixes made from crappy mono soundboards.

There are only 12 soundboards out there that stand up to the official boots quality-wise:

02/12/92 Amsterdam
03/04/92 Utrecht
06/06/92 London
09/26/92 Honolulu
07/XX/93 Rotterdam
04/03/94 Atlanta
01/14/95 Washington DC
03/17/95 Melbourne
11/01/95 Salt Lake City
11/03/96 Berlin
03/05/98 Melbourne
07/22/98 Seattle

Anything else you see labeled "soundboard" is sub-par in terms of quality.

9/16/98 sounds pretty good, though not as good as 3/5/98.

If you guys aren't listening to the after-show broadcasts from the '94 and '95 tours, you're doing it wrong. The Atlanta after-show is especially entertaining if you ask me.
