Already out of stock again. I guess they just got a handful. By the way, if anyone is actually going to play these, you're much better off getting the 180g pressing...
Did these just get re-released or something? Whats the skinny on these records?
don't know. when i was in greece back in '95, i bought all the pearl jam lp's at this record shop; the records were made in austria (like the cd singles back in '91-93. don't know if sony's prints in europe are all done there now.
but the re-release of the albums, is weird. plus that picture disc. thought they all were sold out. then they appear again. it's like the solider field lp set (which i still don't have in my collection). which lp is the collectors edition, which one is the fake rerelasing print? etc ..

Why?
Picture discs are meant to be collector's items and are not necessarily pressed on the best vinyl or using the same standard for regular pressings. A standard LP would be 120gram (someone correct me if I'm wrong), an "audiophile" pressing is usually pressed to a heavier 180gram LP which in turn is more solid, won't warp as easily, and would have deeper grooves which would allow for better conact with the needle, hence sound better. I don't know all the detailed physics behind it, but that's the basic idea.

I just received this in the mail direct from Aural Exploits. It's rather bendy-ie. it's not flat. It was well-packaged, and I'm sure it'll play fine, but the thing is a bit bent. It's also poorly finished, especially round the hole in the middle. There's also stringy bits hanging off the edge of the outside of the record. This thing was poorly pressed. Cash-in only. I'm a collector, and collect all the official PJ music (CD's, vinyl, promos etc), so I'll keep this for my collection (I figure it's useless emailing Aural Exploits, as the thing is out of stock anyway, so they can't replace it). Just wanted to vent a little.
What's everyone else's like?
