Just had to get a new laptop....what do you guys like to use to convert .rar files to mp3's? Are there any good free programs out there?

rars and mp3s are like apples and oranges

as far as I know, you cannot directly convert rars to mp3s

first you have to unpack the rars with a program like winrar

then, you need to find a converter for whatever filetype is contained in the rar

i think on my old computer I used winzip...

7-zip (http://www.7-zip.org/) works great and is free. winrar or winzip should work but probably aren't free unless you steal them from the interwebs.
