Does it exist?
The audience tapes of the first two Melbourne shows from '98 are probably some of the best Pearl Jam audience recordings ever made, I've always wondered if the same taper also recorded the third show that was also famously broadcast on the radio.
Anyone ever seen it kicking around?
Also, I wonder who taped these - they did a brilliant job. From what I understand, they were recorded right near the PA, as opposed to the more commonly found "near the soundboard" taper position. I really dig it, very up-front and direct sound.

Well I wish that taper had been at the Perth show in 1995. No recording of this exists that I can see:
Set 1
* Oceans * Go * Last Exit * Spin The Black Circle * Tremor Christ * Animal * Corduroy * Not For You * Lukin * Jam * Even Flow * Dissident * Why Go * Jeremy * Whipping * I Got Id * Rearviewmirror * Blood * Porch * Satan's Bed
Encore 1
* Another Brick In The Wall * Daughter(Little Wing) * Black * Better Man * Let My Love Open The Door
Encore 2
* Yellow Ledbetter
Oh well...

There's a great version of "Corduroy" from Perth '95 on the video we're not supposed to talk about.
Those 1998 Melbourne shows are awesome. Shit, that entire tour is awesome. 3/11/98 Sydney is one of my favorite bootlegs ever.
God, I really want 3/14/98 and 3/15/98 to show up sometime. I know there's a shitty audio of 3/15/98 out there but it would be nice to have it in great quality. Totally random and amazing version of "Blood", great setlist, great energy.
Now that I think about it, Australia 1995 and 1998 are my two favorite PJ tours ever.

Mine too: wonderful recording, even better show.

Glad to see the '98 tour love. I always think it gets overshadowed by the US tour with Matt, I've seen people actually forget Jack toured behind Yield at all.
I wish I could've seen them on the '95 run down here too...but my folks wouldn't let me go...

That Brisbane show 14/3/98 isn't available is it? I haven't seen it about anywheres (but then again I hadn't seen the Perth 95 show about the place before this thread either!).
:hopes:

I know the taper for all these shows. Brisbane 1 1998 does exist but is not in circulation. Recorded by the same taper as those Sydney/Melbourne 1998 recordings. From close to the onstage PA onto DAT. In fact, I think he had a DAT rig in each hand for all the shows. PJ was still ironing out the taping policy for the Oz tour and this taper was the only guy who insisted on talking to PJ's crew who let him bring his gear in to Brisbane 1. This is not the same taper as the Perth show.

ahhh memories. Man what an awesome run of shows that was I loved the lots of improvs popping up at the end/beginning of songs. The rhyming "gatorade" with "adelaide" improv>habit was a highlight for me I would wet my pants if they opened up the vault on these shows.

Reckon there's any chance of it getting out there one day?
Wish he'd taped the Adelaide show - the recording's not terrible by any means, but not quite as awesome as Sydney/Melbourne tapes (and there's some pretty annoying singers-along in the crowd).

I would say about a 0 percent chance, Spence.

Hi all, I'm incredibly new here but I thought I would let you know I taped the Adelaide show in 1998. There are 2 versions floating around (of which I have both). My copy has less crowd talking but is of a similar quality as the other. It certainly was a sensational show, the most memorable of all shows for me! Ed played drums for a bit during the encore break, certainly was in a great mood all night.

Wow, thanks so much for taping that show - it was the first time I saw the band and I listened to it just today (not sure if it was your recording or not, but thanks all the same) coincidentally!
It's amazing to be able to relive that memory and guys like you make that possible - cheers, man.
