So I've run into a situation lately where I can't find things. I'm a pretty good digital packrat when it comes to archiving my bootlegs & stuff, but my collection of PJ B-sides, Xmas singles and other odds and ends is getting out of control. I have no idea where I backed up the Gone demo from Sept. 2005, or what happened to the originally-released version of Hard To Imagine from the Chicago Cab soundtrack, for instance.

So I ask you, how do you keep all of your miscellaneous Pearl Jam tracks - you know:
- the Xmas singles
- the soundtrack contributions
- the cameo appearances on other artists' records
- the B-sides from the old days of CD singles & import singles
- the orphaned live tracks that were used as B-sides, before the official bootlegs

Right now, I'm using Lost Dogs and the EV Innocent Bystander compilation as a starting point. Anything that isn't included on either of those, I want to compile into one big, ultra-mega super Pearl Jam rarities collection.

Any suggestions? What do YOU do with all this stuff - cause let's face it, most of us are probably hardcore enough to own most every single track that has been put in the last 17 years. Has anybody ever assembled/circulated a compilation of this kind of stuff - aside from Innocent Bystander? I remember seeing a set of Xmas single FLACs up through 2005 or something, not too long ago.

Right now, I'm thinking it's gonna be a 4-CD compilation, with all the songs/performances in chronological order. Even if I listen to my iPod in the car WAY more than I listen to actual CDs any more, I want to assemble all this stuff into a CD set that will at least serve as a hard copy archive when I'm trying to locate something. I don't know if I would necessarily circulate it, since it's officially-released material, but I'd love to get any ideas you guys might have about such a thing.

Funny, I just made a 2CD comp along the lines of what you're talking about. I did this on the weekend just to have something for the iPod/car to keep all the non-Lost Dogs tracks in one place - it's far from complete but since it was just for me I left stuff off if I didn't really care for it, otherwise it'd definitely be more than 2 CD's.

DISC ONE:

1. Wash [Original Version]
2. I've Got A Feeling
3. Oceans (Remix)
4. Footsteps [Original Version]
5. Yellow Ledbetter
6. Breath
7. State Of Love And Trust
8. Even Flow [Single Version]
9. Dirty Frank [Original Version]
10. Alone ["Go" Single Version, placed here as recorded in the same session as tks 6-9]
11. Sonic Reducer
12. Ramblings 1992
13. Angel
14. Ramblings 1993 (Fuck Me In The Brain)
15. Elderly Woman Behind The Counter In A Small Town [Acoustic]
16. Crazy Mary
17. Out Of My Mind
18. Hard To Imagine [Original Version]

DISC TWO:

1. Against The 70's
2. I Got Shit
3. Long Road
4. Black, Red, Yellow [Original Version]
5. Olympic Platinum
6. Happy When I'm Crying
7. Leatherman
8. U [Original Version]
9. Soldier Of Love
10. Driftin' [Original Version]
11. Thunderclap
12. Foldback
13. Harmony
14. I Just Wanna Have Something To Do
15. You've Got To Hide Your Love Away
16. Goodbye
17. Man Of The Hour [Demo]
18. Man Of The Hour
19. Shine On You Crazy Diamond
20. Gone [Demo]
21. Love Reign O'er Me

Jason, Me and Allen (BRY) are working on a new disc that will solve most of your problems :)

But all your problems will be solved with this set:

http://jam-river.com/pjtorrent/audio.php?s=4&obj=1

That is one DVD with everything you will ever need, ask the people in the forum for lossless stuff?

I have (somewhere) the silver of this. If you don't find it elsewhere, I'll try to dig it up.

Are you sure about this? pjcollectors has no version of the Go single with Animal from the MTV awards.

edit: My bad. It comes from the free cassette attached to the single. So, technically, it's not from the actual CD single.

Did you transfer it from the cassette or did someone else? Is it a good transfer?

Cool. This is one of those take-it-or-leave-it tracks. I haven't gone out on an exhaustive search for it since it's not that great (in my opinion). But, yeah, if you might be able to upload a FLAC of the one song, that'd be kewl.

I was wondering about Animal (live from MTV Music Awards) too. I have the tape, but I didn't think it was ever available on CD. I'd love a FLAC if someone transferred the tape!!!

Also, I did a "B-Sides & Rarities" set that is about 7 discs long. I made it before "Innocent Bystander" was put together. Things I included that were not on your list are:

Alive (original version from 1991 3-track promo; diff't guitar solo)
Self-Pollution Radio 1995 (live tracks from the Z100 "Official Bootleg")
Monkeywrench Radio 1998 (live tracks from WAAF "Official Bootleg")
Live at Chop Suey (tracks from the promo DVD)

Great Idea Jason!!

when you're done with your compilation, could be wise to upload it at demonoid since they don't care about some offcial content.

I will take a look at my singles collection, i own almost all of them..and to get them all together in a chronological way in a fat case 4 cds..sound great.

[Without trying to sound too gay or anything] Nice set! See my post above for revised track listing on my set. I added the 3 songs from The Bridge School Collection, Vol. 1, released on iTunes 11/21/06. Not lossless, but they're the only thing going right now.

Looks like I'm missing these:

Hey Baby/New Rising Sun (M.A.C.C.; McCready, Ament, Cornell, Cameron; "Stone Free" Hendrix tribute 1995)

Love Boat Captain (live in Seattle; "Love Boat Captain" single 2002)

Any chance of a FLAC upload? :D

And even though I probably wouldn't include them on my compilation, I'd love to get a hold of these too:

Ed with C-Average live at Tibetan Freedom Concert; Westwood One 1999

Monkeywrench Radio WAAF official bootleg 1998

Could these be seeded at Youkan's if there's enough interest?

Is there a copy of this broadcast that's of equal quality to the 1995 show?

My copy of 1995 sounds perfect, has to be a pre-FM, but all copies of the 1998 show I've ever heard sound like they've been taped from the FM broadcast - there's a sort of radio-ish fizziness to it (for lack of a better term...).

I have a complete pre-fm version of the 1.31.98 Monkeywrench show. I'm pretty sure it's available via torrent at the usual sites. The source I used for my rarities set is a radio promo/official bootleg CD from WAAF radio station. It's 1CD and just has PJ's performances.

I see there's a torrent on Youkan - any chance anyone could seed it for me?

Thanks a bunch.

I'm leeching this at the moment from Youkans - I'm pretty sure Pegasus is the seeder. Unfortunately it's very slooooowwwww going - I'm at 18.5% after a week (and I'm pretty sure that 2 days ago I had a sudden jump from 10% to 18%). All flat now.

Any other seeders to help would be hugely appreciated.

I'm on it too (leeching, that is) - thanks for Pegasus for helping me out, you're a gem.
