I know this is a really anal post but, I have the complete original 2000 & 2003 tours in Shn that were traded with Md5 files and were.... Official release > CDex Version 1.40 Beta 9 > WAV > mkwACT V0.97 Beta 1 > shn [seek tables appended]
I have since received them in Flac form convertred by Leehro from Jan this year and I am finding it hard to hit the delete button on the whole complete Shn tours.........storage is cheap & I have the room so I ask Keep it or Delete it?
Thanks, Datfly
PS: How many versions are in the trading circles as complete sets and are there any with the songs titled?

Some background on those FLACs - The SHNs were going around on some HD B+P's. My friend Bryan got a HD B+P from emanon here, it had all the 2000 & 2003 SHNs (some were FLACs but not many). I borrowed the HD, sifted through the stuff and merged it with my collection. I wrote a script to convert all those SHNs to FLAC, update the txt files and then deleted the SHNs*.
I made sure all the SHNs passed MD5 before converting to FLAC, then made sure all the FLACs verified after converting - so I think you can trust them as well as the SHNs anyways.
As for a collection with track titles and other metadata - I thought about that, but usually when I listen to a show I don't like to look at the setlist while it's playing.
*I own all the CDs, so having them in FLAC is mostly for convenience.

dbPowerAmp is my conversion software of choice. You can convert a bunch of them at one time easily. If you have a bunch of files to convert in different folders you can use their Batch Converter and get them all done at once.

I've been converting as I listen. It's a slow, arduous process.
If the SHNs have seektables do you still convert? And if so, is it just for the tagging? Curious is all, by the way.
I have no idea what a seektable is.
IIRC it is an additional file that makes the SHN seekable (skip to any point), which was always one of the biggest complaints of the file type. I actually have to check etree to see if that is true.
On topic, I have kept the original SHNs as I have no real need to convert and reburn/archive.
