I honestly do not understand how to have a small picture with all my posts or replies. If anyone takes the time to help me out with this it would be sincerely appreciated. I am relatively new to forum life, and I am jealous of everyone else for being able to figure this out so easily.

if you are talking about the ones under your user name on the left of the screen, then its called an avatar, you can add one in your profile, but it has to be 60x60 or smaller, there are a few sites out there that have avatars of various sizes, and also you can shrink any pic down to the size you need(though i dont know how to )
hope that helps some

I'm still having problems with this whole avatar thing. Everytime I drag a picture into the space on the "profile" section, and then also bring in the adress for said picture. Well, the site keeps replying with " it must be a gif or etc. etc." but it IS a gif. I am thoroughly confused but still appreciate the help.

It could be because the file has no extension (the filename doesn't end with '.gif' in your case). Try adding the extension by renaming the file.
Also, I'm not sure what you mean by dragging the picture on the profile space. You could be giving a wrong path to the file. Use the browse button to pick the picture.
