at the moment(dont know when it accually started) my computer will only let me go online, if i try to do anyhting else it pops up a window saying DrWatson Postmortem Debugger, and its one of thoes things saying it has encountered a problem and asks if you want to send an error report, and it accually locks up my computer, and it locks up so bad that i have to unplug it to get it to turn off. so anyway, i am very computer illiterate, so im hopeing that someone will know somehitng about this, and possibly give me an idea of how to fix it. the fact that it says its a postmortem debugger kinda worries me. but the only thing i can do is online, i cant go to my computer, i cant get to the control pannel(i would like to do a defrag but it locks up trying to get there) so it will seriously let me do nothing else.

thanks

I just had the same damn problem. Really pissed me off. I wasnt able to access anything on my desktop, which really limited me. Go back and get rid of the most recent Update which was within the last two weeks. To do this just go to system restore by typing msconfig in the run dialog box. Find when the most recent update was made to windows and restore to before the update was made.

What the hell is Dr. Watson? I've always seen it in the Windows directory, ever since Windows 95, but every time I opened it nothing happened.

Dr. Watson (DRWATSON.EXE) is a diagnostic utility that detects system and application failures (for example, general protection [GP] faults) and stores Windows internal data in a file called DRWATSON.LOG. Certain areas of this file may be useful when troubleshooting problems that may exist.

Glad to hear. I really cant stand many Microsoft products anymore. I hate IE, use Firefox now, and SP2 sucks. My next computer is a Mac.
