I'm moving into a new apartment where I dont need to pay for cable. I also dont need a phone line. Is there anyway to get a high speed connection w/o a telephone line or cable? Is there a way to get high speed through a phone line? Thanks
I understand that DSL is not as fast as cable, but, in laymans terms, how much slower is it (i.e. loading web pages)? I need it more for just basic internet stuff, not downloading, etc.

The problem with DSL is that it can be affected more dramatically by your distance from the node and the number of subscribers on the line. This also plays a part in cable broadband, but not to the same degree as with DSL.
