ok, so ive been going through a bunch of crap with this computer lately, with the DrWatson post mortem debugger, then the internet explorer must close now, and now one of the automatic updates is no good or what ever, so i have had to go back a few times and reconfigure my computer to before the update was installed, but how to i get rid of the update? because i go back to before it was installed but it then says i have an update to install every time i turn on my computer, and when i shut down if i hit the normal shut down button then it will install the update again, and right now it just went ahead and installed it with out me telling it to, and it keeps poping up a window right now that basicly says the install is done and do i want to restart my computer now or later.

so, is there a way to accually get rid of the update so that it doesnt keep trying to come back?

in windows XP

click start -> control panel->performance and maintence->system->automatic updates tab

click the option for turn off automatic updates
