I'm just looking for something simple i can use to throw AVI's movies and shows on so i can watch em on my dvd player. I have a program called power producer that came with my burner but it sucks ass and its been hours converting the files.

Any ideas? thanks

You might want to check this out...
http://www.mp3towav.org/dvdSanta/

It converts other video formats to DVD ready super easy. With any software it will take some time to convert the files proper because they are so large. Just FYI.

Nero can do it I think. Adobe Encore will allow you to make some pretty complex menus and add chapter points etc if you'd like, or you can us simple templates (I used it on touring ten and vs, but obviously you don't have to make as complex menus as I did). I got it from a torrent as well

Both Nero and Encore will do automatic conversions.
