Ok...I bought a Creative Jukebox Zen NX quite a while back, my warranties definitely done... and i'm figuring the thing is just shot. But I didn't think it would hurt to ask you guys for help concerning the problem i'm having with it. The thing works fine when it's on the charger, but whenever I take it off... it shuts down immediately, and won't start back up again. I've tried resetting it... and i've tried contacting Creatives customer support. unfortunately, they don't help you if your warranties done, or so the website says. So does any kind soul know what the problem could be, or better yet, how i could fix it? As i said, I'm not doubting the fact that the problem isn't fixable, but it doesn't hurt to ask.

Thanks in advance.

 it could be that simple. i'm not really familiar with these kind of batteries, so I'm not sure if it can just die, like a car battery. But it's been on the charger for days at a time... so unless it can just die, and not take a charge... that could probably be ruled out.

All batteries can just die, there's no such thing as a battery that will recharge indefinitely. It's probably a nickel-cadmium or lithium-ion battery. The latter has a lifetime of about 300 discharges/charge cycles, I'm not sure about the NiCd batteries.

And be sure to recycle the old battery (you might be able to recycle it at a Kmart, Home Depot, Walmart, etc).
