I am building a website and have became pretty familiar with adobe photoshop over the last few weeks. Would you use JPEG or GIF picture formatts? It seems that GIF are smaller and have a little better qaulity than JPEG's that I save. I am cutting down the qaulity of the JPEG's to like 2 and they are still loading pretty slow. If I could do something different please let me know. It seems no matter how low I make the qaulity they still take a bunch of time to load. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

PNG > JPG > GIF
GIFs suck. When you're saving JPGs in Photoshop make sure you choose "Save for Web..." or else they'll be huge files.
edit: In general though, GIFs are better for things like logos or images with only a few distinct colors, while JPGs are better for photographic type images.

I don't know crap about images.
Generally, JPEGs are considered better, but if you have big areas of solid colors, you tend to get a bit of "fuzz." So, for things like graphics and such, I tend to use gifs.

One quick question when I saved my files I initially did not save them for the web, that is probably why it is so slow loading. Now when I try to do it, it won't let me. It allows me to choose the option but nothing comes up not even an error message. Any suggestions about what might be happening or what I should do? I think it will be a good sight once the pictures are fixed but right now it takes to long to load. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated! Thanks for the help everybody!

Thats weird. You do have a picture open right? Try the shortcut keys CTRL + ALT + Shift + S. Thats what i usually use when saving to web. It should open to a new dialog box.

Nope, nothing is happening. I do not know what is going on. Is the another program that I can try this in? I have nothing on my comp but maybe there is some free ware out there out something. One more question to add, how the hell do you move a picture in frontpage once you insert it. Like most Microsoft programs it should be under format picture but for some reason I do not get this option neither. Maybe my software fucked up on the insolation. Though I have never had any troubles until now! THanks for helping!!
