From time to time while I'm browsing through here the board has been just logging me out, and I don't even know until I go to post and it makes me log back in! Why must it toy with me like this?

Try enabling the option "Log me on automatically each visit" when you log in (it's a checkbox under the fields where you enter your username and password).

Thanks
But this is a shared computer and I really don't trust my brothers not to post as me. If you see a bunch of threads titled 'I love Justin Timberlake and his sexy sexy ass' you'll know its happened.

I see
Other than the above option I think there's nothing that can be done. After you are idle a certain amount of time (do not post or browse the board) you will be logged out automatically for exactly the same reasons you mentioned.
Many sites that require you to log in work that way. If there's any thing that could be change it's the amout of time after which you are logged out, but I don't think we will be changing this.
Actually there's one more thing that can be done - if the computer you are using has a system with multiple user accounts, you could use a different account than your brothers use (I assume you use the same account now).
The information about your login option is stored in the browser cookies and those are stored seperately for each user account.

Ok, I guess I'll just have to put up with it
Thanks for your help Ender
It is probably something I'm doing anyway, that sems to be the case 99% of the time with me

No problem. And no, it's not your fault, don't worry
Consider creating a separatre account on your computer as I mentioned. Or if you already use a different account than your brothers (you login in to your computer with a different username and password then they are, plus they don't know your username and/or password), then you are save to use the option for automatic log in (but you would have to rememeber to lock the computer when you leave it unattended for longer period of time while you are logged in).

I'm having a similar problem. Everytime I close out my web browser it logs me out. I check the "automatically log me in" or whatever it's called box every time I log in and it still won't keep me logged in. It's happened everytime since the board went to the new server. Is anyone else having this same problem?

You should check if you have cookies enabled in your browser.
