Okay. I am thinking about getting a DVD burner for my computer. I really don't know anything about them. What's a good kind? What do I need? What software should I get? Any help would be appreciated.

Here's a nice model from Newegg that'll burn up to 16x and dual-layer, if/when the media becomes affordable:

As far as software...for normal burning, I use Nero. Ripping movies (tsk tsk! ) takes something like DvDShrink.

This is a great burner. The only other two I would have recommended would be the Pioneer A08 and Plextor 716A drives offered right now.
