I'll start with a basic necessity.

Google Toolbar. (toolbar.google.com)

The popup blocker works great, you've got Google at your finger tips. I dig it.

i have norton internet security 2004 and systemworks 2004, i bought both on ebay for a whopping 54 dollars total

i havent had a pop up since (not that i had one before, since i had older versions of them also)

i'm very careful about what i download on my home computer as well as websites i go to, so spyware isnt much of a issue with me. maybe in the last 6 months i've had two to contend with. ill run adaware maybe once ever month, if even

I say FireFox as well. It blocks all popups too, and has a search bar that you can use google with built in already.
