I am trying to figure out a way to hook up my 4-track recorder to my laptop. I used to use the Line-In jack on my old computer and it worked great. The only thing I can use on my laptop is the mic jack and it sounds terrible.
Any suggestions? I looked up something similar and all I could find was Apple soundcards. Are they compatible with Windows?

Yeah, mic jacks are NOT going to do what you want here. If you don't have a line-in jack, you're either going to need to use another computer, or get an external device (probably USB based) that will accept whatever inputs you want to go with.

Any suggestions for a USB device that can help? I don't feel like lugging my old computer to my apartment from home.
